First Baptist Church of Cimarron was faithfully led by Pastor Richard Deimund from January of 1994 until his retirement in May of 2025. Each day, he lived out our Church’s vision: to connect and serve a multigenerational and multicultural people for Jesus Christ—renewing faith, restoring hope, and sharing the truth of God’s Word.
Today, we are seeking a full-time or bi-vocational Lead Pastor to guide our Church Body in fulfilling our simple yet powerful mission:
To love Jesus, love people, and glorify God by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, nurturing disciples, and building a community rooted in faith, hope, and love. We are committed to leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through biblical teaching, heartfelt worship, and compassionate community outreach.
We are prayerfully seeking a Christ-centered, Spirit-led Lead Pastor to guide our church and community in fulfilling our vision and mission. The ideal candidate will be a passionate preacher and teacher of God’s Word, a compassionate shepherd to the congregation, and a visionary leader capable of equipping and motivating others for ministry and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to the church and local community
- Prepare and deliver engaging, biblically sound weekly sermons aligned with the church’s vision and mission
- Oversee and work collaboratively with church staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers
- Cast and implement vision for the church in alignment with its core values
- Foster a welcoming, multicultural, and multigenerational church environment
- Encourage and equip members to actively serve in ministry
- Teach and disciple individuals and groups to grow in faith
- Represent the church in the community with a heart for outreach and evangelism
Qualifications
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a deep love for the Church
- Ordained minister with a degree in theology, ministry, or a related field preferred
- Strong communication, teaching, and preaching skills
- Proven leadership experience in a pastoral or ministry context
- Shepherd’s heart with a servant-leader mindset
- Highly motivational and able to inspire church engagement and service
- Preferably bilingual (Spanish/English) to better serve a diverse congregation
